To the Doc....

Well, we visited the doc this morning. Judah's nose has been so stuffed up that he's been refusing to nurse sometimes and that just isn't good! So, I took him in. She said that he just has a cold and that he's teething. She gave me a recipe to make a saline solution to clear up his nose. You mix 1/4tsp table salt with 6oz boiled water. Let it cool and then put a couple drops in each nostril with a medicine dropper. It really helps clear out his nose. Of course he doesn't really like it but, too bad!

He was such a good boy at the Doctor. He just smiled and tried to play with the stethoscope. She said that he is the perfect example of a happy baby that is well loved and attached to his family. What an amazing compliment. He makes me so proud!

Afterwards we went and saw Sally at Starbucks. I got a sugar-free hazelnut americano with cream. Yummy! Sally makes the best drinks.

Here is a picture I took yesterday. I was talking on the phone to my mom and Judah was playing on the kitchen floor. He think playing under the chairs is really fun.

A cold or teething?

Well, there isn't too much to say about today. Judah either has a little cold or he is teething really bad. His nose is all runny and he had a hard time napping today. He just seems like he isn't doing too hot. Whatever it is, I hope it passes soon!

We got to stay home all day today though and that was really nice since we've been running around alot this last week. I made zucchini and carrot baby food, apple sauce and also pear baby food. I also got some cleaning done so, that felt good. My mom came and visited with us for a little while and brought us some peaches that she got up at the farmer's market in Mount Vernon.

I just hope that whatever is bothering Judah doesn't keep him from sleeping well tonight. He needs his rest and so does his mommy!

I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart!

Today was SUCH a great day. Judah and I had MOPS this morning and it was so fun! Judah did awesome in the nursery. He was able to be in their the entire 2.5 hrs without them having to page me. When I went to go get him, he was scooting around on the floor and laughing. It was so nice to be able to just enjoy MOPS and get a little break!

After MOPS, we went to Sally's house so I could feed Judah before going to Costco. We had a nice little visit with Sally and Ben and then we headed to Costco. At Costco, Judah got to have his first SAMPLE!!! They were handing out Gogurt and oh boy! He liked it! He loves riding in the front of the cart and being able to have a sample is like icing on the cake.

Another thing that made me really happy today is how easy Judah went to bed tonight. He has always slept really well for the most part but, the last few days we have struggled when it's time for him to go to sleep. When I put him down in his crib, he's been flipping onto his tummy, getting up into a crawling position and scooting around his crib. The problem has been that he is a back sleeper and he gets really sad because he doesn't know how to lay down on his back again to go to sleep. Anyway....tonight I layed him down and he scooted around for awhile and then he just layed down on his tummy and went to sleep without even fussing at all. I was so surpised! He never has slept on his tummy before. Honestly, it still kinda freaks me out but, I suppose it's ok since he put himself there and he is older now. So, I hope he sleeps well tonight like that. At least I didn't have to keep going back into his room and laying him back down on his back.

These simple things like good times in the nursery, a fun day at MOPS, Costco samples and going to sleep peacefully make me such a HAPPY MOMMA!

8 months

I can't believe my baby is 8 months today. Here are a few of the things he's up to:

•He is almost crawling. He can go backwards but, not forward too well yet.

•He eats solid food for breakfast, lunch and dinner and still nurses 5 times a day.

•Some of his favorite foods are pear, sweet potato, peas and banana.

•He takes a morning nap and an afternoon nap, he is a great sleeper.

•He is learning how to drink out of his sippy cup and he gets upset sometimes if I take it away.

•He is happy almost all day long!

•He loves when we read stories....especially "Spot Goes to the Farm"

•He is the most precious thing in the world to me and the last 8 months have been the best 8 months of my life!

Falling Leaves

I love this time of year. The days are still beautiful but, it is starting to cool down outside. I love the smells of fall. Apples on the stove cooking with cinnamon, pumpkin spice coffee, all the yummy fall scented candles.
The other day I took Judah for a walk and we loaded up the basket on his stroller with some big, pretty leaves that we found along the road. When we came back, I made a few decorations with them. I'm happy that I can leave these up until Thanksgiving and then after that, the Christmas decorations can come out!

I've got your sock and a fun visit with Great Grandma

A few days ago we had a great visit with my Grandma. Judah hadn't been able to meet her yet so, it was great for them to meet for the first time. We had lots of fun visiting and my Dad cooked a great dinner for everyone. Judah and Noah had fun playing outside together. Noah had alot of fun taking Judah's sock off his foot.

Scooter can open cupboards

Tonight while Judah was scooting around the kitchen floor, he discovered that he can open up cupboards. It was too cute not to take a few pictures of. Jeremiah's next day off will be spent baby proofing. I can't believe our little guy is almost 8 months.

Social, social, social

Well, no one can say that we aren't giving our child enough time around other people. Last week was vacation at Lake Chelan, then Sunday we were at a family party for Jeremiah's family, then we pretty much had company everday or went somewhere and now we have friends staying with us from across the country until they find a house. Geez, I got tired just from typing all that!
Judah is holding up great though. He is doing well being around all the different people and he is starting to become more intersted in other kids. He is the biggest blessing everyday. I love his sweet smile and cheerful attitude. I also love the fact that...In our weakness, HE is strong! To me, that means that when something is too big for me or too much or too hard, God will always be able to help me with it. We are not doing any of this alone!
