Favorite Type of List

Back when I was un-married and living on my own, I always had a white board by the door and it helped me remember important things. When Jeremiah and I were dating, he would leave me cute little notes on it and I loved that.

We're married now, with a baby and another one on the way. The little white board got lost in the shuffle of a move or maybe it got old and I threw it away. I really don't remember. Now, I've becoming the "paper list" kind of person. I always have a list going on paper and it's worked for me.

The other day, I saw this little white board at Target on the $2.50 rack. I thought I should buy it and then I could stop having a paper list on the counter everyday. So, for the last couple weeks, I've given up the paper list and used the white board.

I know I like having it there by the door. I like the little notes that my husband has been leaving on it. I just don't know if I like it as much as my old paper list. It's not as satisfying to cross things off of. You wipe them out and they're gone.....not sitting there with a line through.

Do you prefer a white board or a paper list? I know it doesn't really matter but, I think I might need to have both.

  1. How cute! I love that your hubby writes little notes on the board. Ever since I had 4 kids I just can't keep it all in my head so I am a paper list person. I am always adding on and crossing off and I use sticky notes too... it is the only way I can stay somewhat organized. Followed you from Blogfrog.

  2. I'm a both kind of girl. I put major projects on the white board. I also put important phone numbers up there. I have a section for things I need to talk to Eric about too. I can see the white board from the dinner table and I can think to talk to him about them then, if appropriate with the kids present. Then I have my nitty gritty get it done list that I would be lost without on PAPER. I have to be able to take it with me. And you are right, crossing it off on the paper is SO much more satisfying!

  3. I love your post, Angela! :) I've never had a white board list, so I don't know... But I do love paper lists! So much that I've been known to write down things that I did, but which weren't on my list, AFTER I did them just so I could have the pleasure of crossing it off. :) Silly, I know - but very satisfying!!

  4. Nathalie, I just love that! I get annoyed if I'm doing something that's not on my list because then I don't get to cross it off! You aren't silly at all! :)

  5. Love your blog! Found it on Blog Frog, nice to meet you. I'm a follower!

  7. I love to write things down on lists that I have already done just to be able to cross them off...sick I know. I have tried the small wipe board and the paper... I love both... rock on list girl!

  8. Paper list for me! I'm a new follower from blog frog.

  9. I think your blog is wonderful. I mostly like to make my list in my purse size calendar so that it is usually with me. I also make notes on my calendar above my computer
