Well, I was showing him how it's done and apparently I am hilarious when I spit into the sink. The boy almost fell over laughing every time I showed him how to spit.
He tried and let's just say that our bathroom mirror is a little um...... dirty. I'm sure he'll catch on!

You've slept a few 8 1/2 hr stretches but, for the most part, you still get up to eat once or twice a night. You put yourself to sleep for bedtime and naps usually without crying at all.
Today you were laying on the floor with a few toys hanging over your head and you were grabbing the toys and trying to pull them to your mouth. It may be silly but, I am so excited that you are starting to be able to grab a toy.

The house was full of energetic little boys but, it didn't feel overwhelming. I was SO proud of all the boys for how they got along and played so well together. Here is a fun picture of my Dad sitting and eating with some of the boys.
We had chocolate cupcakes with Mickey Mouse toppers on them. As you can see, Judah loved his.
We also had a rainbow cake that I made. I got the idea from a picture that I saw on the Pioneer Woman's blog. It's a Martha Stewart recipe and I had a blast making it. It took forever to make and I actually had to make it twice because I messed it up the first time. It was so worth it though. I think it turned out really pretty and it was so yummy.
Judah's sweet friends gave him some of his very favorite things. Trains, legos, fire trucks and tractors. He is so blessed!I am so proud of my little 2 year old and the person he is becoming. I'm also so thankful that we have such sweet friends and such a great family. I pray that Judah will always have special friends in his life.

#1 Words of Affirmation
#2 Quality Time
#3 Receiving Gifts
#4 Acts of Service
#5 Physical Touch
I think the book was written specifically about the love between a husband and wife but, I feel like knowing someones love language can be useful in a lot of different relationships. Lately, I've been thinking about how it's important to know the love language of my children. Of course, Paisley is too young right now for me to tell what makes her feel the most loved but, it seems like Judah's love language is quality time. Spending quality time with Judah goes a long way. His attitude is better, he is happier and I can tell it makes him feel special. His love language might change as he gets older but for now, I need to remember that quality time is extra important for him.
My husband's love language is different than my own so, I forget to show him love in the way that makes HIM feel loved. Without even knowing it, I show my love in the way that makes ME feel loved.
What is your love language or what is your child's?

Oh yes.....the junk drawer. It was quite "junky". Doesn't just about everyone have a junk drawer in their kitchen? You know, the drawer with the pens, rubber bands, cell phone chargers, pads of paper, misc. keys and many other random items. Well, ours used to look like this:
The first thing I did was totally empty the drawer and wipe it out. Then everything that didn't belong in there went back to where it belongs. There were a lot of Judah's markers and crayons that go in his coloring box but, I had quickly stuck them in there when he was done coloring. Some things went into the garbage, a few things were set aside to ask my husband about.
While I was working on it, Paisley woke up. She played on the floor and chewed her hands while I finished.

I've always considered myself a fairly organized and clean person but, when I started this project, I realized just how messy our coat closet was. I guess I just never really thought about what it looked like and yikes, it needed some help!
Here's what I did:
After: (Better but, I still need new baskets)As far as organizing the top of the refrigerator goes, it was more a project of just de-cluttering it. The top of our refrigerator has been a place to hold awkward shaped appliances that we don't use frequently enough to have on the counter. Clutter bothers me so, today I made it my mission to find a home for these things that is out of my sight.
It's amazing how you can actually find "homes" for things if you really try. I thought our cupboards were already pretty full but, after a little rearranging, I was able to put all of these things away in cupboards. Hooray for a clutter free refrigerator top!

It was worth it to go. It was Spa Day and there was lots of time to just visit and hangout. When I dropped Judah off at his class, he did his normal freak out but, when I came to pick him up, he was happily walking around with a big teddy bear tucked under his arm. He looked up at his teacher and said "bye bye!". She said that he was really good and I feel really proud of him. I'm so proud of the little boy that he's becoming. Sometimes I feel the most proud of my kids when I see them in a different setting rather than just at home. Seeing Paisley hanging out across the room in the arms of another lady or seeing Judah playing at MOPS just makes my heart happy.

Now they're all ready to be stored away in the cupboard! Thanks for the ideas on what to organize. I'll use them all except the garage....that's my husband's job. :)
While we sat there in the parking lot, Judah had a snack and pointed out all the trucks and buses that drove by. He is such a good boy to sit in his carseat and patiently wait for me to feed his sister. I love them both so much and I'm so glad we have fun while we're out doing errands.
One thing I like about going shopping in the morning is that the stores are full of moms, small children and older people. The moms give each other understanding smiles and the older people are usually some of the kindest people you meet.
I took a break from the daily organizing posts over the weekend, to be kind to my family. Are there any areas in my home that you'd like to see before & after organization pictures of?

Today I cleaned it up a little. I washed my makeup brushes, threw out some old stuff and changed out the containers to hold things. The first thing I did was wipe out the drawer with a scented lavender wipe, a sample that I already had. It made the bathroom smell amazing while I was working and it also cleaned really well! Then I found some pretty tissue paper and lined the drawer. For me, getting more organized is NOT about going out and buying new containers and stuff. Of course that's fun to do but, I want to get more creative using things that we already have at home.
Throwing out old makeup is so important. While I was going through my stuff, I came across an eye cream that's supposed to make the area around your eyes look brighter. Well, I tried it on and the area around my eye is indeed brighter.....bright red! And bumpy. And warm. The cream was way too old. Throw out your old makeup!
Here are the before and after pictures. I've decided that this project is already super humbling. Showing the before picture is embarrassing!

I often feel torn on how to spend my time. Thankfully, my kids usually take a nap at the same time. Sometimes the first thing I want to do after they are down is just simply eat lunch, get on facebook and catch up on blog reading. But, there are also dishes to be done or there is dinner to be made. There is cleaning to be done that I don't want my 2 year old "helping" with. I like to make dinner during nap time as often as I can because it helps the evening to go smoother.
Today I read a little blog entry about organizing a bookshelf. You can find it here. Something like this is so practical and doesn't take much time. I organized our book shelf in our living room and although it's not dramatically different or amazinly gorgeous, it makes me feel good! Just doing a little thing like this everyday can make a huge difference on how organized our home is. Here are the before and after pictures of the bookshelf.
AfterI'm going to start trying to organize just one small area of our home everyday and blog about it.
Now it's time for me to go wake and feed my sleeping babe......
