Judah turns 2

Tonight, I'm sitting here reflecting on what an amazing and fun day it was. Judah had his 2nd Birthday party today and he had the best time. We've been talking about his Birthday party for awhile and he seemed like he was really looking forward to it. This morning when he woke up to our house decorated in "Mickey Mouse", he was so excited. He said "WOW!!! It's Mickey Mouse!" As the party started, he was dancing around because he was having so much fun.
We served lunch and we had: Homemade macaroni & cheese, turkey wraps, crackers, chips, veggies and fruit salad.
The house was full of energetic little boys but, it didn't feel overwhelming. I was SO proud of all the boys for how they got along and played so well together. Here is a fun picture of my Dad sitting and eating with some of the boys.
For me, the best moment of the party was when we were singing "Happy Birthday" to Judah. In the middle of the song, he started clapping and saying "it's fun!!!!" It blessed me so much to see how he loved having everyone sing to him. I literally almost started crying.

We had chocolate cupcakes with Mickey Mouse toppers on them. As you can see, Judah loved his.
We also had a rainbow cake that I made. I got the idea from a picture that I saw on the Pioneer Woman's blog. It's a Martha Stewart recipe and I had a blast making it. It took forever to make and I actually had to make it twice because I messed it up the first time. It was so worth it though. I think it turned out really pretty and it was so yummy.

Judah's sweet friends gave him some of his very favorite things. Trains, legos, fire trucks and tractors. He is so blessed!I am so proud of my little 2 year old and the person he is becoming. I'm also so thankful that we have such sweet friends and such a great family. I pray that Judah will always have special friends in his life.
Happy Birthday, Judah! We love you!

  3. Oh Angela, that cake is simply amazing! I am going to have to hear all about it. Mercy was telling Daniel this morning how SHE is going to have a striped cake and an artist birthday party. Her party isn't until August, but it never hurts to start planning early :) Five is a big one for our kids, we let them invite their whole Sunday School class.
