So, here we go..........
Today was my husbands first day back at work after our staycation. He worked 13 hours straight and I had to miss a meeting with Julie for Connect and Save. It's not my hubby's fault so, I'm not upset with him but, Geez Louise, I felt like a day old salad by the time he got home. Soggy, wet, smelly, slightly green, all of those things applied to me. No, I didn't get to shower today, I had smashed peas on me and the water that was supposed to be in the bathtub had soaked my clothes.
I made crock pot Chicken Cordon Bleu for dinner tonight with peas. The kids didn't really appreciate it the way an adult would. Judah and Paisley do love peas though! Our dining room was covered in peas. I was squishing peas under my feet as I was cleaning up the dinner mess and I don't like how things feel on my bare feet. It actually drives me nuts. As I was cleaning up the pea mess, I didn't realize that our light was on, the neighbor was walking by outside and I had major plumbers crack going on. Sorry, I don't know how to say that politely. The neighbor is a sweet girl that I'd love to become friends with but, she just witnessed me scooping peas off my floor and she witnessed my major plumbers crack moment. Um...nice! Wanna come over for coffee???
Judah and Paisley were filthy so, I decided to try and have my super mom moment and give them a bath together. This usually works well but, it's easier if Jeremiah is home so, he can grab the first one out of the tub. Well, somehow I poured the water onto myself that was supposed to rinse off Judah's hair. For the record though, they had a blast splashing around together.
After I got them in bed tonight, I cleaned up potty off the bathroom floor, I did the dishes, I made my husbands lunch. It's all normal, everyday stuff. See, I have to write about the good, the bad and the ugly. It's part of blogging about real life.
Tonight I laid my head in Judah's lap while he was sitting on the couch and he was rubbing my hair with his hands. Moments like that make all the smashed peas under my toes so worth it.
