Random Acts of Kindness Challenge-Day #2

Welcome to day #2 in the 31 day challenge! We've chosen to do one Random Act of Kindness for each day during the month of October and while it honestly scares me a little, I'm reminding myself that we don't have to do anything big, it just needs to be something that will make someone happy.

Today a couple that we used to live by came to mind. They were amazing and totally irreplaceable. She was the lady that came and helped me clean my floors when my washing machine overflowed and I was super pregnant with Paisley. He was the sweet man that drove around, calling our dog when the dog had dug out from under our fence. They were the neighbors that brought over freshly picked lettuce and tomatoes countless times. She also baked amazing banana bread and brought it to us many times. One time I put out our garage sale signs too early....... before I set up the garage sale (don't ever do that!). People were literally knocking on my door and as I was about to freak out, she came and quickly helped me set up the garage sale. They took care of our dogs while we went on vacation, they bought our kids Christmas presents and they made me feel safe because I knew they were watching out for us. There names were Patti and Larry. When we lived by them, Judah wasn't good at pronouncing L's and R's so, he called them "Patti and Wee Wee". Totally hilarious!!!

Since we've moved, we haven't talked to them as much so, our Random Act of Kindness for day #2 was to send them a sweet little note. Do you have an old neighbor that you haven't talked to in awhile? Send them a note. It's quick, cheap and I bet they'll be glad to hear from you.

  1. I will never forget Judah saying "it's Patti and WeeWee!" I laughed so hard :)

  2. They will LOVE to hear from you! :)

  3. Thanks so much. This is wonderful...what an encouragement!!!

  4. LOVE this topic! Great idea!!! Looking forward to more wonderful ideas. Thank you :)

I blog at "Only a Breath" and would love for you to stop by if you have time! I'm writing about "31 Days to Love Your Neighbor". It has been a very interesting journey to say the least! :)

    Have a great day!

  5. Loving that you are teaching your kids already the value of sending a note. Love it!

Thank you for your comments. I read every single one of them and they always make me smile.
