A few days ago, I got an email from Heidi over at The Frugal Girls. She asked me if she could feature my Cakes in a Jar on her site. She totally made my day and today the post was featured. I'm just a plain old stay at home mommy that likes to craft and blog. When someone "big" recognizes it, I get a little giddy. Thank you, Heidi! You're the sweetest!
My mom stayed with Judah this morning while Paisley and I ran around getting some errands done. We needed pink and orange balloons, paper plates, party food and many other things because our little Paisley Rae will be one this weekend! Later this afternoon, my Dad brought over a cover that he made for my garden.
The cover is on hinges so, I can open it and lean it against the fence. My little garden is actually pretty happy right now. The plants are growing well and I think this cover will really help protect it from the cold weather. I'm super excited to see how it does! Tonight I tasted my spinach for the first time. To me, it tasted like the best spinach I've ever had. I'm sure that's just because I grew it and it was straight from the dirt.
My Dad brought us some baked beans that he made. He loves baked beans and over the years, he's worked on perfecting his recipe. Tonight, we discovered that Paisley loves bakes beans also. She was going crazy over them. We don't bathe our kids every evening because I feel like it dries their skin out but, tonight was defiantly a bath night! Paisley went straight from the highchair, into the tub.
After we got the kids to bed, Jeremiah and I made Caramel Apples. They aren't for us and that's a good thing because I don't think these could be in our house too long without me wanting to eat one or five, if I'm going to be honest. We rolled them in crushed up Butterfinger. It seriously smelled awesome but, I didn't have a bite. The South Beach is working and I've got to stay on track. I'm planning on taking the "day off" for Paisley's party though and I'm looking forward to that!
