Thankful

Monday's are usually our stay at home, rest and get caught up on stuff kind of day so, there isn't much for me to write about. While putting Paisley down for her nap, I was thinking about how I still wanted to write today but, not sure what I should write about. I decided to create a simple list of things that I'm thankful for. Often lately, I easily become flustered by circumstances around me. Certain aspects of life can seem so frustrating but, time and time again, God is showing me how SMALL my problems are in the big picture. Do the things that I stress over have any eternal significance? Sometimes but, not usually. While I'll probably never stop getting frustrated by small stuff, I can and I am, very thankful for our blessings. Here I am, a mommy of two healthy children, we have a warm home, we have food, toys, clothes, my husband has a job, we have friends and family. It's time to stop grumbling and instead, have a heart of thankfulness.

First of all, I'm thankful that God made me the kind of person that can get excited about small stuff. It doesn't take much to make my day or make me happy.

I'm thankful that I can break all the fashion rules and step outside to get the mail and check on my garden....in my flip flops and socks. I think this look should pretty much be illegal but, I'm still rock'n it, when I'm alone in my yard.

I'm thankful for my garlic plants.
I'm thankful for my beets but, not so happy about the bugs that are eating the leaves!
I'm thankful for our "thankful banner".
I'm thankful that I'm able to cook for my husband and kids. Making food for them and seeing them enjoy it makes me happy. Today I made pumpkin bread with mini chocolate chips in it. Judah and Paisley loved it.
I could go on and on but, my baby is waking up. What are YOU thankful for today?

Proverbs 15:13
A happy heart makes the face cheerful.

  1. I'm thankful for the three noisy kids that are playing together in the living room while I read a few posts.
