My husband was scheduled to not only work on his Birthday but, also be on-call all evening so, we originally decided that having a party for him seemed nearly impossible. Well, 2 days ago, I decided that we'd throw him a Birthday party, even if he ended up not being able to be there. If anything, it would be a fun excuse to have our family over and fix everyone dinner.
Thankfully, our family is super laid back and they all had great attitudes when I invited them over, very last minute. The party was very simple.... Spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, Caesar salad, Birthday cake and ice cream. Jeremiah ended up being able to be home for most of the party and even after he had to go back to work, most people stuck around and the kids had a great time playing.
Homemade white cake with coconut cream cheese frosting. I made an almond simple syrup, poked holes in the cake and drizzled the syrup over the cake before I frosted it. So yummy.
I'm so thankful for my husband and for how hard he works for us. He is an amazing Daddy and a wonderful man. Happy Birthday!
