He Plays with Marshmellows, She Reads

Sometimes I have mommy-guilt and feel like I don't involve Judah in the things that I'm doing around the house enough. Sometimes I'm in too much of a hurry or I don't want to deal with the mess. But, that's not the kind of mommy that I want to be so, I'm trying to get creative and think of ways to let me help me with whatever I'm doing at the time. I'm sure you've seen a sign like this before.....I think it's about time that I make one.
Last night I got Judah involved by giving him toothpicks and marshmellows to build with on a cookie sheet, at the table. I'll admit, I had one of those moments where I thought "Alright, I'm not that bad of a mom! This is actually a good idea and, it's working!"
He built snowmen, he built trains. He had fun and he wasn't even eating the marshmellows! I think he only used maybe 5 or 6 large marshmellows for a least a half hour of creative play. I loved it.

Paisley has really become interested in books lately. She's often spotted around the house, sitting and flipping through a book. When I saw her reading in front of the tree last night, with her red dress on, I had to grab the camera.

She spent the evening wandering from one room to the next, picking up a book, sitting down, "reading" it and then going and finding another one to read.
 Goodnight Mush......
