I love family traditions. It's the simple joy of yearly repetition, mixed with noticeable changes in the kids and all of us experiencing a familiar event in a new way. One of our annual traditions is The Lights of Christmas. I think I appreciate it more every year because I can see how as the kids get a little older, they enjoy it more than they did the year before.
Last night was a record breaking night for The Lights of Christmas. 8,723 people were there. How do I know this number??? Well, Paisley lost one of her shoes while we were there and today I called to see if it was turned into the lost and found. The super nice lady on the phone gave me that HUGE number and I told her about how much fun we had.
We were in traffic for a long time on our way there so, we got bored and started taking strange pictures....
(note to self, do not tuck chin to chest, while taking self portraits)
Over one million lights and there is no way my photos will ever do it justice.
Train rides. :)
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
