Marshmallow Love

Today was another special snow day for us. While Judah was out playing in the snow, I made him some special marshmallows for the hot chocolate that would warm him up when he came inside. I told him the heart was because I love him and it must have made an impression on him because he told Daddy all about it tonight when he came home from work.

First I melted a bunch of mini marshmallows in the microwave. I turned the power down to about 30% so, they would melt and not just get huge.
While they were melting, I greased a heart shaped cookie cutter and put it on a plate, covered in waxed paper.
After the marshmallows were melted, I poured them into the greased cookie cutter and put sprinkles on top. I melted quite a few marshmallows so, I also made some other fun shapes but, I didn't get pictures of those. In to the freezer the marshmallow shapes went.
After they had chilled for awhile, they were pretty easy to remove from the cookie cutters. Using a butter knife dipped in hot water worked great.
I love this boy and I hope he'll always let me make him hot cocoa with heart shaped marshmallows on top.
This post might be linked up to some of my favorite craft and cooking link parties.
