Today was a busy Saturday for us. We started the day with a family trip to Lowes. Judah was all decked out in his Lowes gear and ready to do the workshop that they provide for the kids on Saturday mornings. Unfortunately, when we got there, they told us that we came on the wrong Saturday and that the workshop would be next Saturday. I'm sure that I wrote down the wrong date so, I felt horrible when I had to explain the situation to Judah. He took it well and we had fun walking around the store together.
After Lowes, we visited the Country Store in our town to see the baby chicks and get a hot dog. I seriously love this little town that we live in. I love that we can go down to the Country Store on a Saturday, look at baby chicks and rabbits and then go outside and eat a hot dog on the bench. It's simple. It's great.
We came home and while the kids napped, I went outside to peak on my garden. Raised bed #1 is growing well. The peas are doing well. Two types of lettuce are up and the spinach and garlic are doing well also! We bought Territorial Seeds this year. It's our first time using that kind of seed and so far, I'm really pleased. It looks like every seed that I planted has sprouted.
We had a Birthday party to go to so, I ended up having to wake Paisley up from her nap. On the way to the party, we stopped in at Ace so, I could get a free quart of paint. Oh....I'm so excited! The color I chose is a beautiful turquoise and I'm already dreaming of the things that I want to paint with it. I have some clay flower pots that could use a good coat of paint with a glossy finish on top. Yep, it's fun and it's even more fun when the paint is free! Today when I went in, they told me that they'll be having this same paint promotion next Saturday so, if you live by an Ace Hardware, you should check it out!
After we got our kids to bed, all I could do was flop down on the couch. I started messing around in my scrapbooking program and came up with my new blog header. I have a confession to make....I'm like never really satisfied with my blog header. I keep on messing with it, changing it around and then wanting to change it again. So, please forgive me if I change it almost as much as I change my you know what's.
I recently saw a quote that I wanted to share:
"Promote what you love, instead of bashing what you hate." I like that.♥
