31 Days, Day 4: Hearing the Heartbeat for the First Time

Continuing on with "31 Days of Celebrating the Moments that Matter":

Today the moment that mattered the most was loud, clear, strong and perfect.

I had a midwife appointment this afternoon and it's been a long time since I've been there, like literally since I was only 7 weeks along. Anyway......As I laid back on the table, and she got her little heartbeat doppler ready, I felt slightly nervous. Early on in pregnancy, finding the heartbeat can take a few seconds and when you're laying there and waiting for that boom, boom, boom, sound.....those seconds can feel more like minutes.

Today, as she set her doppler onto my tummy, I didn't have to wait for even a few seconds. The loud whooshing  sound of this baby's heartbeat was immediately so loud, clear and strong. Even though I've been through the experience of pregnancy before, the sweet sound of hearing the baby's heartbeat for the first time never gets old. It's truly one of the best sounds ever.

So, what was the best part of your day today?

  2. How exciting! I love those little moments when you actually feel prego! Know what I mean? :) Will you find out the sex before it's born?

  3. Nothing more amazing than the sound of the baby's heart beat! When the baby moves that is special, but the heart beat is the best! I will miss those special parts of pregnancy-but will just look forward to my daughters experiencing the miracle of having a baby growing inside your belly! :0)
