31 Days, Day 8: When Sweet Moments Need to be Created

If I'm remembering right, this is the first year that we've actually carved a pumpkin with the kids. Sure, we've colored on pumpkins, painted them and last year, I was on a huge spray painting and monogramming kick.
Judah was repeatedly saying "this is the coolest pumpkin ever", so it's safe to say that the kids were totally into it. Well, it has character, that's for sure. Our pumpkin is custom designed by my two little people and I honestly wouldn't have it any other way.
For 31 Days of Celebrating the Moments that Matter, I just want to mention that sometimes these moments just don't jump out and present themselves. Once in awhile, we can go through a spell where nothing seems especially wonderful or worth remembering. It's on the ordinary days, where everything feels mundane that these special moments need to be intentionally created.

Today was less than amazing and by 6pm, nothing had jumped out at me as special. Instead of throwing in the towel, I had Paisley lay next to me on the deck for just a few minutes and we looked at the perfectly blue sky together.

The minute of calmness with my girl was fleeting but, even though it had to be intentionally created, it was still perfectly sweet.
