Miscellaneous Monday

It's been one of those days where everything was awesome until about 5pm. I don't want to go into details but, let's just say that I have major love and respect for the single parents out there. I do fine all day but, when evening comes and my hunny has to work late, most often our "good day", goes down the pipes fast. Honestly, I wish it wasn't that way and I get frustrated with myself because by now, you'd think this wouldn't phase me. You'd think that I could just count my blessings and press on, without being shaken.

When I sit down to write, I want to document our days in an honest way and so, I share that most of the time, things rock but, sometimes I do want to pull my hair out. Sometimes I do feel like I so desperately want out of these ordinary days.

But, then I tuck my precious little people in and my boy holds me tight and thanks God for ME for literally like 5 minutes. "Thank you Jesus for Mommy's shoulders. Thank you for her hair. Thank you for her smiley face. Thank you for her neck." He continues on while I hide the tears that slide down my face. This ordinary stuff is hard sometimes but, man it's so worth it!
Today we made Gingerbread Playdough. It's from a recipe that I found on Pinterest . It smells amazing and it turned out perfect! Go make some.
Slowly, I've been putting our fall decorations away and beginning to break out little pieces of Christmas. We won't be getting our tree until the Saturday after Thanksgiving but, these white slippers and the candy cane in my afternoon cup of coffee are a sweet reminder of what's to come.
Last February, I shared an easy recipe for Pie Pockets and today, I got in the mood to make them again. Instead of filling them with strawberry and lemon fillings like before, I made an Apple Cinnamon filling. Oh, these are so good! I promise that I'll try and post the recipe within the next few days.

Even though we stayed home all day, I totally enjoyed having the kids in their new matching shirts. It's not easy to dress a brother and sister in matching outfits so, when it works out, I get a little giddy.
I hope you've had a lovely day, friends.
