Sunshine Freaks

We have a gorgeous week ahead and just a warning---the sunshine does something to me. Partnered with colorful fall trees and comfortable cool temperatures, these sunny days almost make me feel invincible. I just can't get enough of them. Add an extra cup of coffee to the mixture and you'll find me texting my hubby all sorts of silly messages, spray painting random stuff during nap time and  kissing my baby's cheeks until she sneezes all over my face, which I suppose is her subtle way of telling me to get out of her face. Anne of Green Gables said "I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers." I'm right there with you, Anne.
Thankfully, my kids have been bitten by the sunshine bug as well. As we drive down the road, Paisley points out what a beautiful day it is and then when we get home, she gets all dressed up for the day. Future trend setter right here. If only I could figure out a way to bottle her confidence. Right now, she compares herself to no one. She is perfectly content to be the awesome person that God made her and only her to be. Oh, for the rest of us to be so content to just be us.

Later, Judah asked if we could picnic in the back yard for lunch. Automatically I said no, because that's my response too often, before I really think through my answer. I changed my mind though and our time outside was perfect. We spread out a picnic blanket, ate our lunch and then read a few books. When we can, we need to do more life outside.

“After all," Anne had said to Marilla once, "I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.”

I hope your week is off to a great start.

  1. Yes, indeed! Thanks for sharing your golden days. Hooray for families, friends, sunshine, crisp colorful leaves, blue skies, cool days when we get to wear lovely hats.

  2. What a sweet quote. :) Must be from the book? (which I'm ashamed to say I haven't read..) I don't remember that line in the movie.

It's been rather chilly here in Wisconsin the past week. I'm missing SUNSHINE!
