Leavenworth

Yesterday we came home from the best vacation in Leavenworth. With my sister, her husband's cousins and all of the kids, there were 6 adults and 7 little kids, four years old and under. Together we rented an amazing log cabin out in the woods and we spent a few days making some amazing memories! I feel like this post deserves paragraphs that describe in detail how amazing the time away was, but to be honest, it's 9:30pm and this Momma is tired. My baby is coughing and sleep needs to happen for me soon. And honestly, my words can't describe how good it is so get away from normal life with family. This annual vacation is my favorite.

While we were there, I literally took over 300 photos, I just couldn't help it- the place was magical! So, tonight I'll share a few of our special moments here. Crank up this song and join me, yes?
Napping girl, on her way to vacation.
As we drove over the pass, we blasted Christmas music.
It was snowing, but the roads were still totally fine.
Trees, perfectly covered in snow.
The drive to the cabin was almost exactly 2 hours. It amazes me that this winter wonderland is so close!
Sweet moments at the cabin......

Reading with Auntie.
Possibly one of my all-time favorite photos of my sister.
Late night coffee, to keep us awake while we played games.
Pre-bedtime hot chocolate parties.
It takes a village to get ready to play in the snow.
Snow ball making.
Walks through the woods and down to the river.
Us.
Snow covered logs.
Signs that fall is leaving and winter is almost here.
Gorgeous light, filtering through the trees.
Snow covered branches.
Water droplets on pine needles.
Snowberries.
Sister walks with a sleeping baby.
Open spaces.
Random train car out in the woods.
Happy girl, picking snow off her gloves.
Sleeping boy.
Foosball tournaments.
Future foosball champions.
Stops alongside the road, on the drive into town.
Taffy shop!
We love this town! With the kids, we only walked around for a few hours, but it was still really fun.

Jackson the horse! His owner was the nicest lady. We didn't take a carriage ride (maybe next year!), but we had fun chatting with her for a moment.

First time seeing Peter Pan.
Late night cake making.
Beater licking.
Heart shaped pancakes, from Stephanie. The kids loved all of her different shapes, including the Superman symbol, which Judah totally loved.
Friendship bread making.
Bowl licking.

Cinnamon sugar eating.
Superfriends watching.
Birthday party'n!

Candle blowing.
And of course, we had to throw a lunch date in there also. This is just another benifit of vacationing with another couple. You can watch each other's kids and go out! This '59er Diner was so fun and seriously, they have the best malts that I've ever had. If you ever visit Leavenworth, go there!
Happy Monday, friends. I wish I was still on vacation, but whatever. Until next year, Leavenworth!

  6. Yum! I love the 59er diner! I'm found your blog from Kelly's Korner. I live North of Bellingham right up at the Canadian border. I look forward to reading more of your blog, I love finding blogs of people who live close!
