Our Leavenworth Vacation: Natapoc Lodge

After I wrote the post about our vacation, a few of you asked about where we stayed. I guess I often forget that local people read my blog and so, I leave out important details sometimes! I'll try to get better about that, I promise!

Anyway....If you're local or even if you're not local and you're planning a trip to the Leavenworth area, I'd highly recommend checking this place out. It's big, as in 3,800 square feet and it's well suited for groups of up to 17 people. Staying here with a few other families worked out great for us.

The name of the lodge is Natapoc Lodge and you can check out the website here. Here are a few more photos of the lodge, in case you happen to enjoy log cabins out in the woods. Personally, they're my favorite. I grew up in a log cabin in the woods, that my Dad built. The only difference is that our log cabin had bats, and this log cabin is bat free. Hallelujah! Also, our log cabin had sheets for bathroom doors for awhile. This cabin, has beautiful solid wood doors. So yeah, there are a lot of differences.

Regardless---this is my happy place. I'll take a vacation in the snowy  woods over a vacation in a busy city any day!

When you look at this bunk room, try to picture it without the crazy kids and unmade beds, that's what I do when I look at it. Unmade beds make me twitch, but hey, it was vacation.
This room was so perfect for the kids.

Hope you're having a great week, friends.
Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks, can you believe it?

  1. Wow! This is beautiful! I'm definitely going to have to check this out the next time we're in the States for Christmas. Our annual trip to Leavenworth is something that I miss so much--we started it before we were even married. I just have to remember that it can be pretty here in the winter, too. There's just no cabin in the woods...just snow in the city.

  2. Just found your blog through SUYL. I don't currently have a blog but I loved reading yours. I am a military wife currently living north of Everett. We are planning a trip to Leavenworth over the Christmas break.

    Have a great evening!
