I don't remember the last time I saw my state of Washington agree on something like this. I don't remember the last time everyone unanimously stood behind something, in support of it's success. I don't remember the last time I saw everyone so united.
I'm the first to admit that I can't sit through an entire football game. I get antsy. I get up, do dishes and check on kids. But, then I come back and check the score and today I really, really wanted the Seahawks to win, along with every other person I know.
Today it became clear that this is way more than just football. After the game ended, I scrolled through Facebook- a place usually filled with controversy and differing opinions, but tonight, everyone was on the same page. For the first time since I can remember, everyone stood together.
I say that it's so much more than football. From the girl who can't sit through even a quarter of a football game, I'd say that it's about community, not just small town community- but a larger community.
Maybe I do really like football after all.
And Seahawks, you rocked that.
