[Currently Listening]
....to the rain, birds singing, frogs croaking, the dryer thumping and the husband putting our new treadmill together. Tonight at bedtime, I grabbed Paisley and we slipped outside to watch the sun set. As we stood there, catching rain drops in our hands, we listened to the birds sing and a single frog saying ribbit-ribbit. These slow moments with her are far better than any perfect bedtime routine that we could run through.

[Currently Watching]
.....this girl's hair coming in by the day. Suddenly she's rocking the piggy tails--you know the kind that stay in even after you take them out for a bath.

[Currently Thankful For]
....belly laughs in the grass.
Signs of spring.
Visits in the sunshine with the chicks and 500,000 other things. There's so much to be thankful for.
[Currently Thinking About]
-School choices for Judah for next year.
-Training to become a doula and how that'll fit into next year's plans.
-The treadmill. Huffing. Puffing. Sweating.  I'm excited to start exercising regularly again.

The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life (Before 8AM)
It might sound wacky, but I totally believe this stuff. Every time I'm up early and start my day right, my whole family has a better day. And dang it, waking up early is NOT easy for me. I'm the gal who over slept by almost two hours on her own wedding day. But hey--- I think there's something to this and I'm trying to make it a habit.
What are you listening to, watching, thankful for, thinking about and reading?

I'm sharing my post today over at The Mama Collective...come join in!

  3. Such a great idea! (toy) Party favors are so overrated in my opinion. Half the time guest either don't take one home or don't use it but this is a great option! If you have left over you can just plant them yourself. :) For our wedding favors rather than having gifts we just took into consideration how many people RSVPed, how much we 'would have' spent on favors and then made a donation in their name instead to a NGO we were passionate about. We then took a moment to thank our guest for the donation in their name and what it was for. For my sons birthday I just sent people home with bagged cookies. Once again, so precious.
