Our Daily Story: Reading Under the Tree and Some of Our Favorite Christmas Books

Without a doubt, one of our favorite December traditions is pulling out our collection of Christmas books and reading through them all month. Some of my top favorites are the ones that I grew up with, that my Mom passed on to us and also, some vintage Golden Books that I bought for a steal of a deal last summer. They date back to the 1940's and 50's and the illustrations are so special and unique.

After I tucked Eliza in for her nap today, I heated up a cup of coffee and joined Paisley under the tree. These are some of my favorite things: Christmas books, coffee, and reading under the tree with this girl. December needs lots more of this.

If you're looking to add to your reading list this month, here are a few of our favorites:

1. Usborne Nativity Flap Book      2. The Night Before Christmas Golden Book
3.Merry Christmas Mr. Snowman  4. The Christmas Story
5. My First Picture Book of Christmas Carols
6. The Snowy Day                          7. The Story of Baby Jesus
8. The Velveteen Rabbit                 9. The Twelve Days of Christmas in Washington
10. Santa's Toy Shop                     11. The Snowman
12. Santa's Favorite Story

  2. Those books brought back many memories of my "boys" - now 42 and 39 - and my grandchildren - 16 and 18. My youngest granddaughter is 5, so the books can still be put to good use. Love the vintage ones! Precious days you are experiencing! Pam

  3. Pam, that's so great you have a 5 year old granddaughter to read with. I love when my mom reads books to our kids. It's so special!
